The Creative Writing Department at Bath Spa University is one of largest and most successful in the UK, and has pioneered the teaching of creative writing in the UK at all levels.

The Department is home to a distinguished team of creative writing practitioner researchers, including MAN Booker, Whitbread, and TS Eliot prize nominees. We have expertise in most areas of prose, poetry, fiction, children’s fiction, narrative non-fiction and scriptwriting. Our work is underpinned by this creative practitioner community and many staff are also active as practice based researchers in subject networks in the UK, USA and Australia. Every year we showcase our work via panels and workshops as part of the Bath Literature Festival and Bath Festival of Children’s Literature.

The University has recognised the success of the Department with a significant investment in five new Creative Writing Professorships. We are looking for writers who have an international reputation and clear  and achievable plans for future work.
